Home Harvest and GIZ / PRUDEV Joint Partnership Meetings with Local Government Leadership
Gulu & Lira Districts
Strengthening agricultural systems requires strong collaboration between the private sector, development partners, and local government structures. In line with this approach, Home Harvest, in partnership with GIZ/PRUDEV, conducted formal engagement meetings with District Local Government leaders from the Acholi and Lango sub-regions.
Purpose of the Engagements
The meetings were organized to:
- Introduce the partnership objectives and implementation approach
- Secure buy-in from District Agricultural and Commercial Officers
- Align project activities with District Development Plans
- Establish clear coordination mechanisms for implementation
These discussions ensured that the partnership interventions are fully integrated within district priorities and planning frameworks.
Strengthening Production and Market Access
Through this partnership, Home Harvest will work to strengthen farmer access to:
- Quality production inputs
- Structured and reliable off-take markets
- Market-driven agribusiness opportunities
The goal is to support commercially oriented farmer organizations and improve agricultural productivity in Northern Uganda.
Commitment from District Leadership
District leaders expressed their commitment to actively participate in implementation and agreed on coordination mechanisms to guide field-level activities. This alignment creates a unified approach between the partnership and local government technical teams.
A Foundation for Sustainable Impact
The meetings in Gulu and Lira established a strong foundation for collaboration. By embedding partnership interventions within local government systems, Home Harvest and GIZ/PRUDEV are advancing coordinated agricultural development efforts aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening market systems across Northern Uganda.
Building partnerships. Strengthening markets. Transforming livelihoods.
